My husband, Clement Cumberbatch is Myrta's nephew. She was born in Barbados in 1906 in St. Johns - arrived in the US on May 31. 1906 on a ship called "Francis". Her parents were Clement Cumberbatch and Eugenie Taylor Cumberbatch. She was the oldest of four children. Doddridge, Carden and Vincent. They did live in New Rochelle, NY. She is buried in Beachwood Cemetery in New Rochelle, NY. We went to the cemetery and checked the records. The records indicate that she died on February 6, 1933 and she is buried in Section 39 Range A-6 Grave 20. It is the same grave as her father Clement was buried in. He died in 1923. Hope this helps you and we would love to hear from you as to your side of the family.

I am so happy to finally find someone who knew my grandmother. I am Rita Anderson's daughter. Rita was Myrta's daughter and Keith was her son. The only thing I know is that she died an early death. Mom was still a little girl. I have no pictures or anything. One pic would be a heaven sent. Maybe it would help see my own mother better. I'm so excited.
Please answer soon.

Anita,
It is good hearing from you. My husband, Clement Cumberbatch asked me to reply. Clement never remembered Myrta as she died whe he was about four years old. However, he knew Keith and Rita and their father, Fred Anderson. During the depression the three of them lived with Myrta's brother, Doddridge Cumberbatch, Clement and his mother on 6th Street in Pelham. I am sure that he could tell you some stories about Rita. As for pictures, I don't think it was in their DNA to take or keep pictures as I can find none. Presently, I am helping Clement write his autobiography which is what got me into looking into his ancestory.
We live in the New York area and would love to hae you come to visit and share memories, if you would like to. Hope to hear from you soon.
