Annie married Robert Lee Leviner. On the 1920 SC census they had 4 children Perry, Leslie, Martin, & Malissa. Dose anyone have any info on Cumbers in SC/NC in the late 1800's? Thank you, Dee Leviner

Roberts parents are Hiram Leviner & Elizabeth Smith Leviner They are also buried at Pleasant Hill. Hirams parents were Marshall Leviner and Mary Jane Freeman They are buried at Freeman Leviner cemetery on the Richmond/Marlboro county line.

Dee, where are you finding the census information you referenced on Robert Lee and Annie Leviner in SC for 1920? I have searched for it, but come up empty.

Thanks for the tip on the alternate spelling; I found them for 1920 in Smithville Township of Marlboro County, SC. I can't locate them in 1930 though; do you by any chance know where they lived at that time?
Also have a question about Hiram Leviner. In my census searching for 1880, I find two Hirams in Wolf Pit Township of Richmond County, NC. One is in the household of his father Marshal Leviner with sister Mary C. and brother Perry, and is 27 years old. Interestingly he, along with his father and sister, is indicated to be married, but there is no spouse listed for either of the three. Also of interest is that Marshal is not indexed by the site I was using for my search (HeritageQuest); I stumbled across this family because he was on the same page as another Leviner.
The second one is head of his own household with wife Elizabeth and sons Maston/Irving/Marshal (John Leviner is a Boarder). This Hiram is listed as 28 years old. I take this individual to be the father of Robert Lee Leviner who is the husband of Annie Cumber.
Are these Hirams the same individual? If not, who are the parents of this second one?

Lynn, So good to find someone searching where I'm searching. Her is what I have:
Marshall and Mary Jane Freeman children:
Hiram 1853-1915 marries Elizabeth Smith
Mary C 1855- mar John Smith
Perry 1859-1938 mar Ann Barrington
Sarah 1861-1875
Milton 1863-1875
Charles 1867-1875

Hiram & Elizabeth children
Ervin R 1876-1952 mar Emma Stacey
Mary C 1878-1952 mar W Jasper Leviner
Marshall 1879- mar Edna
Richard calvin 1881-1955 mar Etta Hatcher
Sarah 1882- mar Chavis/Phillips
Martin Luther(Maston) 1883 or 1874 mar Melissa Batton
Robert Lee 1885- mar Annie Cumber

About the 2 Hirams on the 1880 census. One is the son of Marshall and Mary Jane. I will have to look into who the other is. Don't want to say something wrong.

What is your connection to this family? What other Marlboro/Richmond County familys are you interested in?

Hope this helps, Dee Leviner

I'm not sure if you got all the information that you need, but Annie Cumber is my grandmother. I have a lot of information that you need if you haven't gotten it already. I know your post is dated, but if you still need information, please reply to my post.
