Help me find my ancester N. Monroe Culpepper b. ca 1896!!

I am looking for any information that anyone can give me on a great uncle of mine. Notley Monroe Culpepper was listed on the 1920 census in Jackson Co. Alabama at age 24 and married to a Mary. His wife killed him from what I understand from my dad but no one that is still living seems to know where they were living at the time and therefore we have no idea where he is buried or anything. Please help if you can!

Thanks, Melanie

Melanie,

I think your Notley Culpepper is buried at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery near Fyffe, AL in DeKalb Co. His wife, Mary, is Mary Frances "Molly" Arnold. She is the daughter of J.L. "Lonzo" Arnold and Mary Ann Caladonia Clifton. I know that Molly had two daughters Maudie and Claudie from a previous marriage to a Whaley. Since Molly died in 1941 and Notley died in 1943 I don't think she is the one who killed him. Possibly he remarried? Or maybe I have the wrong guy all together.

I'm researching the Clifton family from Randolph County and DeKalb Co, AL.

You probably have this, but in 1900:
1900 USC, Jackson Co, AL, Pct 30
p. 153A, HH 245/246 - 30 June 1900
Culpeper, Pamelia, head, wf, July 1823, 76, wd, 10 children, 7 living GA SC GA
Thomas G, son, wm, May 1867, 33, m-6, AL GA GA
Della, Dau-in-law, wf, Aug 1869, 30, m-6, 2 children, 2 living, AL AL AL
Nottley M., gran-son, wm, Aug 1895, 4, single aL AL AL
Rosy M., gran-dau, wf, Oct 1897, 2, single, AL AL AL

I'm looking for yur Notley Monroe's uncle, Columbus Franklin Culpepper in the 1900 census. Any idea where he could be? Not in the census, I think, at least not with the Culpepper name or anything that resembles it. He was the father of Mittie Very Culpepper Yancey, and I am looking to document her father and mother. She did in 1969, no death certificate. She was born in 1888 and married by 1910, so the 1900 census is critical proof. Any help you can give would be appreicated.
