Surnames: Cullum, Hux
Charity Cullum was not a Cullum by birth but the widow of Thomas Cullum who moved to Oglethorpe Co, GA from Halifax Co, NC. His will Oglethorpe Co, GA WB A:161-162 written 10/3/1805, recorded 1/27/1806 named wife Charity Cullum, & three children Betey [Elizabeth/Betty] Cullum, William Hux Cullum and Thomas Cullum.

Thomas Cullum was the son of William Cullum Sr and Amy Hix/Hicks who moved from Surry/Sussex Co, VA to Halifax Co, NC around 1777-80. Thomas and Charity were probably married around 1795/96 based on the birth of their first known child, but there is no marriage record. The Hux surname can also be found in Halifax Co at this time and Thomas was living in Halifax at the time of his marriage, so it's possible that Charity was a Hux or connected with the Hux family in some way. As far as I know, no records have been found to prove her family.
