JEROME BUNKER CULBERTSON 1934-2014 Jerry was born in Duluth, MN on July 25, 1934 and raised in International Falls, MN. He attended Notre Dame for a year before accepting a hockey scholarship to the University of North Dakota. He graduated as a Distinguished Military Graduate in 1957 and was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. After 27 years of service, he retired as a Colonel in 1984. As an Army civil servant, he spent another 9 years as the Deputy Chief of Staff in USASCH. After full retirement in 1999 he continued to serve the Army as president of AUSA and as the Pacific representative to the Chief of the Army retirement council in Washington DC. His passion was golfing and traveling extensively with his wife, Alice Denson. He leaves behind his wife of 30 years, 1 daughter, 3 step- children and 5 grandchildren. A Punchbowl service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 8th, 2015 followed by a reception at the Hawaii Yacht Club at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to AUSA Hawaii Wounded Warrior and Family Programs (WW&FP). PO Box 26, Kunia, HI 96759.
Jerome Culbertson was the great2 grandson of John Harrison and Polly Jane Merritt (sister of Lewis Howell Merritt of Duluth) and grandson of Lucius Lynn Culbertson of Duluth.
