Re: Cuilty Family - late 1800s
Julio Cuilty was my grandfather. He was married to Soledad Ortega Cuilty and together they had 9 children. The oldest was my mother, Margaret Cuilty Humphryes and the youngest was Elsie Cuilty Schultz (sp?) Violette. My grandmother, Soledad, age 36, died giving birth to her. Do we know if Julio's siblings (Genero, Henrietta, and Amelia) have any living children? My grandfather Julio still has 5 living children, my aunts and uncle: Amelia, Henriqueta, Alfred, Carmen and Elsie.

Re: Cuilty Family - late 1800s
Julio had another full brother, Salvador, who's grandchildren I have recorded 18 so far. Julio also had 15 half-siblings. His father was Enrique Cuilty Bustamante (your great-grandfather) who through the course of his life was married 3 times and fathered at least one other child out of wedlock. Enrique was also my dad's great-grandfather, making yourself and my dad second cousins. While individuals travel/live back n forth between the US and Mexico, most Cuilty families living in the US are descendents of Enrique.

Re: Cuilty Family - late 1800s
My name is Victoria Stamm. I was born in El Paso, Texas. My father was Armando Cuilty Saavedra. His mother was Amelia Cuilty. She died in El Paso in 1930. I believe that your grandmother was my grandmother's sister... In the early 1970's, Elsie reconnected with my father, Armando, and came to our home several times to visit. I was never able to meet your grandmother as I had just moved to New York City. I do remember that he called her "Aunt Schultzy" and spoke of her fondly. I would love to connect with you...I feel that you probably have answers to many questions that I have. I've only just started my search for more info on our history. I live in Santa Fe NM.
