Would you happen to have any info on a Martine CUILLERIER m. Joseph PODVIN b. Can 9-19-1858. Married 2-28-1881. (I think) They lived in RI in 1910-1920. This is all I know. Shirley sklipper@aol.com

I'm very much interested in the Martine Cuillerier and Joseph Potvin (most probably the correct spelling) as I'm researching all the descendants of Rene Cuillerier with a view on a major catalogue listing all the families where the husband or the wife bears the name Cuillerier, Cuerrier, Cuierrier, lots of Currier, most Spooners, and othe variations. If you can help, I'd very much appreciate it. Roger Currier

Roger, I am the son of Lucie Beels (nee Cuerrier), who was daughter of Hormidas Cuerrier (b. 1898, d. 1980) and Agnes Villeneuve of Moose Creek, Ont. My grandfather Hormidas had a sister Martine who also lived in Moose Creek as recently as the 1960s, when our family visited there. I hope this helps, and I hope you can point me in the direction of other Cuerrier / Cuillerier resources. By the way, if you were from Ottawa and are about 54 years old, then I believe we may have met and played together as small children.

Guy, Sorry for my English, I am from Saint-Faustin-Lac-Carré (Laurentides' area, near Mont-Tremblant, but born in Montreal). My mother is Claire Trudel-Brault (daughter of Eva Cuerrier and Édouard Trudel). Éva was sister of Hormidas, Sora, Dora, Rosa, Leonard, Martine, Jane, Donat, Hector, Alice. If I am correct, Martine's husband (at the time) was postmaster in Moose Creek. You may have heard of Aurore Bray-Lagroix (born Trudel), cousin of your mother and my mom's sister.

Louise, it is good to hear from you, and your English is much better than my French! Though I now live in San Diego, I had many fine summer days visiting your great-uncle Hormidas in Moose Creek from Detroit, where my mother Lucie and my dad raised us. I still remember pumping the best water from their well, and the taste of apples from their tree. I do remember my mother talking about Aurore, I think they were childhood friends? -- Guy
