I am descended from Rene Cuillerier & Marie Anne Laberge
of Chateauguay County, Quebec. I am from their Son
Pierre Cuillerier who married Marie Lazure-Azure at St.
Martine Chateauguay County, Quebec. They came to MI
in 1862 & changed their name to Spooner in N.Y. where
they resided briefly in Potsdam in St-Lawrence County.

My G. Grandmother was Tharsile Cuillerier (Spooner)

I have conflicting information as to Matilda and Tharsile Spooner. I have them as daughters of Pierre and Marie Azure, and of Pierre and his second wife Tharsille Poissant. Since it was a custom in that century to name children after their parents, I'd be tempted to go for the second, but I'd rather have proof befor going any further. Still, I'd be much interested in learning abut Tharsile - husband's name, his parents, dates and towns of birth, wedding and death, and all their children. This would help me greatly in building up a reprtoire of all the descendants of Rene Cuillerier. Thanks in advance.

I assure you that My G. Grandmother Tharsile & sister
Matilda who married William Gagnier here in Cheboygan
were the Children of Pierre Cuillerier & Marie-Desanges
Lazure. Their Parents were married 19, July 1830 at
St-Martine, Chateauguay County, Quebec & the Children
were born there. My G. Grandmother Tharsile was
Bpt.30, March 1846 at St-Martine. They called her
Elizabeth here. She was married here as Tharsile to
Joseph Desrosiers 20, Feb. 1866 in Duncan Twp.,
Cheboygan County, MI.

I live in Cheboygan.

Darlene,
Thanks a lot for the specs concerning Tharsile. I'm then able to correct the info I have. I have other questions if you care to answer to them. Who were Joseph Desrosiers' parents? Who were their children along with the data? Have you any info on Matilda's marriage to William Gagnier? Who were his parents? Did they have any children? If so, names and data would be greatly appreciated.
Folks in Candiac, Quebec, say Merry Christmas! to you all in Cheboygan.

I have of this. Joseph & Tharsile were my Grandmother's
Parents & they lived here. It would be easier if you went
to my File onAncestry. Put in Name Bird Delamarter
under the Keyword for the World Connect Tree. His
wife was Marie-Agnes Desroshia & they were my
Grandparents. Then you can just go backwards. Her
Mother was Tharsile Cuilerier.

If you have any problems I'll have to send the info in a
E-Mail as I don't know how to send attachments & I don't
take them off after screwing up my Computer because I
didn't to things right.

Roger:

You are only complicating things for yourself. Pierre Cuilerier
& wife Marie-Desanges Lazure came here with all their
Children in 1863. Theonly one married at the time was their
daughter Marie who married Arcule Cardinal at Ste-Martine
before they came to Potsdam, New York. They came here
to Cheboygan in 1863. Tharsile married here in 1866 to
Joseph Desrosiers, Son of Cuthbert Claude Desrosiers-
Lafreniere & wife Anathale Loiseau. Claude & Anathale
came from St-Cuthbert, Quebec.

My G.G. Grandarents Pierre Cuilerier & ONLY wife Marie
Lazure both died here & were buried here. Their Funerals
were both at St-Mary's Church here they are both buried
in Calvary Cemetery as are Joseph & Tharsile.

Where are you getting so much FALSE information?

"Merry Christmas" to you too.

Hi Darlene,
Sorry if I gave you the impression of doubting your word. I know that you should know more about Tharsile than I. I'll have to look up my source on the other two supposed marriages as soon as I can. I retire in four days, and I'll have more time to search the correct records. Thanks again,

Roger,

I think I told you that My . Grandmother Tharsile Cuillerier-
Spooner married right here in Cheboygan in 1866 at St-
Mary's Church, Duncan Twp., Chboygan County, MI. She
married Joseph Desrosiers. Her Parents-Pierre Cuillerier
& Marie-Desange Lazure both died here & were buried
through St-Mary's Church & are buried at Calvary Cemetery.
Tharsile & Joseph are in the same Complex at Calvary.

My G. G. Grandparents Cuillerier only had one child married
when they came here--Ther daughter Marie Cuillerier
who Married Arcule Cardinal at St-Martine, Chateauguay
Co., Quebec. Marie & Arcule also came here.

Pierre & Marie were Married in 1830 at St-Martine & had
their children baptized there. I have the Church Records
of St-Martine on three Microfilms here at the FHC here.
They are in French, of course.

What confuses you maybe is that there were other Tharsiles
& Pierres.

Thanks Darlene,
I'm French-speaking, and will eventually peruse the same microfilms of Chateauguay, Ste-Martine and Beauharnois in the near future searching for other Cuilleriers. Accept my gratitude for the facts.
