Hello, we have the following Cugleys in our family tree.
Thomas Frederick Cugley (11 May 1823-5 July 1875, Daylesford Australia) was taken to Australia in 1839 by my g.g.grandparents, William (Mary) Ann Beard nee Coleman in 1839. He is noted as a “nephew” in the log of their ship, the “Bussorah Merchant”. The Beards came on to new Zealand while Thomas remained in Australia later marrying Catherine(Kitty) McCann in 1849. Thomas Frederick and Kitty had at least 11 children.

Thomas’s parents were John Moody Cugley and Susannah(unknown)
And John’s parents were Thomas and Martha Cugley nee Visard.
We would love to hear if any of the above relates to your Cuglayfamily.
Best wishes

Hi Jim,
I'm sure we are too.
I have just heard from a UK researcher who says there was a Beard daughter who was Susannah, who died as a small child. Now if there was also and older Susannah we can confirm what we both believe.
Thanks for the First Families site.

I have corresponded off and on with Elizabeth for years. Now it looks like we are getting closer to tying the two families together and proving what the master of the Bussorah Merchant said that the beard family brought Thomas Cugley with them - a nephew!!
Anything I find I will of course post
