Anyone related to Harold, Matthew,or Reason Cuffel Indiana or Ohio

While our last names are only vagely similar, I feel that there is a chance they are connected. I have a large family tree drawing, and data-base back to the mid 12th century. The name has changed several time over the centuries. I have listings for CUFFOLD, CUFAWDE, CUFAUDE, CUFFAUDE, and CUFFELL, among many others. Simeon Cuffell was born in England in 1638. He had a son, John Cufaude, and a daughter, Winifred. That line dangles at that point. Cuffell is pretty close, don't you think?

I have just started to look into my family history. Some of my ancestors were located in Ohio and Kansas. Grandfather was Frank Cuffel and Grandmother was Hattie Springer. I have a lot of info but there are lots of blank spots. I would enjoy contact with any one that has been there and done that.

Hi, I am so glad you contacted me. After I posted my query, I found some other info I didn't know my husband, David, had. I found a typed genealogy of Anna and her ancestors that goes back toJacob Schaub in Switzerland in the 1600s. I do not have, however, any info about Anna's father, Matthew Cuffel, except his birth which was Jan. 4, 1849 and death May 10, 1929.
If you would like a copy of the genealogy, I might be able to get you one. Do you have any info about the Cuffels?

Yes I am Interested in any info you have. I also have the history back to the 1600's from Imogene. I have the Cuffel brothers (Kuffel, Koffel, Kauffler) names on the ships log Charming Nancy, arriving in PA in 1737. How are you ,your husband related??

My husband, David, is the second son of Hazel E. Nydegger, who was a daughter of Anna's and a halfbrother of Harold's. Small world! Where do you live? My email address is chorney@ticz.com. Maybe we can talk without using this.
