Cuddihys Chicago/Kilkenny
I lived in Chicago for a while though I was born in England. My grandfather, Christi Cuddihy to England in the thirtys from Kilkenny with his wife Nancy/Joanna. I have no idea if I have any relatives left in Ireland or in the USA where a number of them settled about the same time my grandparents emigrated.

MY GREAT GRANDMOTHER WAS KATE CUDDIHY/CUDAHY B 1855 IN THOMASTOWN, KILKENNY. SHE WAS THE DAUGHTER OF JAMES CUDDIHY B 1825 AND MARY COSTIGAN B 1825. SHE WAS ONE OF 13 CHILDREN AND HAD A YOUNGER BROTHER MICHAEL, B. 1868. MOST OF THE FAMILY EMIGRATED TO CHICOPEE, MASS. SOME OF THE FAMILY MOVED FROM CHICOPEE TO HOOSICK FALLS,NY. KATE AND A COUPLE OF HER SISTERS SETTLED IN WEST HAVEN, CT. SOME OF THE FAMILY WERE RAILROAD WORKERS.

My gggf Michael Cuddihy and gggm Mary Burke/Bryrke lived in Rathbeagh, Acragar/Clone, Kilkenny County, Ireland. Their son Patrick (ggf) emigrated to Buffalo and married Ellen Malley/O'Malley/Malia. Their son James Richard Cuddihy married my gm Florence Honan Sullivan, they left Buffalo for California before my mom was born.
To find my gggf and gggm I had to navigate no less than 4 couples in Kilkenny of Michael & Mary Cuddihy (Burke, Mansfield, etc.) - luckily I was able to figure things out through death notices from Jan in Buffalo. I still have many questions about Cuddihys, Malleys, Sullivans, Honans in Buffalo if anyone else is more clued in. The records of twins that did at birth and children being renamed for the children who died is just a bit eerie.
