Seeking information on the family above. Also trying to find out if there was a marriage between Rachel and a Peter Cubbage as well. I do know that Arthur & his 2nd wife Rachel had several children together and also that Rachel and Peter had a least one child. Arthur's first wife was Bessie Cochran. It is possible that Rachel may have been 1st wife of Peter who married 2nd Gracy Iola 'Ola' McCall. To my knowledge Peter lived in Bloomville area of Clarendon County, S.C. and Arthur was from around Oswego area outside of Sumter, S.C. If you have any information that may help please contact me. Thanks in advance.

Linda - I looked back at the message boards and saw this post from you. Arthur was first married to Bessie Cochran. My grandfather Ladson Gentry Cubbage, Sr. was one of their four children - Leighton Cubbage, Ladson, Sr., Lucille Cubbage Hubbard, and Jennie Ruth Cubbage Fagin. Jennie Ruth is the only child who is still living. She lives in a retirement home in Matthews, NC. My father is Ladson, Jr. Mr. Arthur was married to Rachel Ridgeway and they had a slew of children. I will get the list to you. Mr. Arthur lived with my grandfather and his second wife, Margaret Mills Cubbage, until his death. Mr. Arthur died before I was born, but I remember "Grandmama Rachel" as we called her. Mr. Arthur was from the area around Mayesville - I think as was Bessie Cochran. My grandfather and Leighton Cubbage married first cousins from the Oswego community and that is where my father and his sister, Mary Cubbage Borry were raised. I will get more information to you soon.

I would like to thank you for the information and I will look forward to hearing from you again. I am hoping that all this will help me make or break the connection I am looking for with my great-grandfather, Peter. I still believe that he has to fit into this family somehow and I'm hoping to find that connection soon. Thanks Again for your time.
Linda

HER FATHER REMARRIED OLA McCALL AND A BUNCH OF CHILDREN BY HIS SECOND MARRAGE. SHE SAID HER FATHER NEVER TALKED ABOUT HER REAL MOM AND SHE DID'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HER MOTHERS FAMILY.
