Surnames: Cuatt and Conrad
I am looking for information about my father's parents; Emma Louise Cuatt b 1882 in Greenburgh NY. died 10-7-18 & Frederick Conrad b 8-2-1879, died 4-18-23 in Westchester County New York. They had 9 children, Olive, Emma, Frederick (my Dad), Frank, Howard, Harvey, Arthur, Marion, and Mary. I have birth dates for the children and some spouse's names. My Dad said he was German, French and Scotch-Irish, but I have no information on his grandparents, and, due to the loss of the 1890 census, have not been able to trace Emma and Frederick's parents.

Using data from the 1900 census and newspaper articles, I've come to believe that Emma was the daughter of Reuben T and Hannah Cuatt. They were living in Greenburgh in the 1880 census. As you can see in 1900, Emma and Frederick lived adjacent to the William and Jennie (Cuatt) Dutton, Jacob Conrad is further down the same page with 3 of his 4 children. Hannah Cuatt is living several blocks away and gives info that she bore 3 children who are still living, since there were only 2 in 1880, it seems reasonable that the 3rd was after 1880.

Emma and Frederick's marriage record and Emma's birth record should both be available, likely at the Town of Greenburgh Town hall. I've been trying to link all the Westchester county Cuatts, but stop short of paying for actual copies of records. I've a few other "arguments" if you want to discuss them through emails.

I was so excited to see your post about the Cuatt's in Westchester County New York. I've been trying for so long to obtain my great grandparents names. Emma Louise Cuatt is my father's mother and was born June 1882 in Greenburgh NY, Westchester County. She married Frederick Conrad in 1897. Emma died 10/7/1918 during the flu epidemic. Frederick was born 8-2-1879 and died 4-18-1923. They had 8 or 9 children. The youngest Mary was born 8-29-17 was only a little over a year old when her mother died and 5 when her father died. I understood from my Dad (Frederick Tucker Conrad) that the family was scattered to various relatives and the older ones moved around or married so the family was scattered. I knew about and met 4 of his brothers and coresponded with his sister Mary who first located me about 10 years ago (she has has since passed away). As she was so little she had little information about the family.
The name Jacob Conrad is interesting because one of my uncles was Harvey Jacob (born 1909) and on various trees I've seen a Jacob Conrad also born in 1909 - probably the same person.
Over the years my Dad would talk a little about his family and it was so sad how they were broken up when most of them were still small.
Through various census reports I've had Emma and Frederick living in White Plains in 1900 and in Mamaroneck in 1910. My Dad was born in New Rochelle in 1902 and he talked about living in Tarrytown at some point.
How are you related to the Cuatt's? I would love to hear more from you. I too have not sent for actual copies of records. Right now I am undergoing total knee replacement - had the right one done on 8/17 and the left will be done on 10/9, so I'm pretty involved in rehab and have had to spend time in a rehab facility and will again after the next knee is done. But after I'm back to normal I'll probably send for written records.
I"d love to hear from you . My email address is jbernez@att.net
Emma and Fredericks' grandaughter Janice.

I very recently was able to find your ancestor's grandmother Catherine's surname. Funny, it was already there in you letter. Catherine, who married James, was a Tucker, daughter of Reuben Tucker and Rachel Boyce/Boice.
