Does anyone have information on Ignacio (Ygnacio?) Duran. He was supposed to have been a council member of the Tiaguas. I estimate somewhere aroun early 1800's.

I am trying to find out if my great-grandmother has an enrollment #. Her name was Margarita Pena. I have a copy of her schoool records from Sherman Institute, Riverside, Ca. It states that she and her sister, Sara, attended from Aug. 1904-Dec. 1904. It also states that she was full blooded Pueblo, residence in El Paso, tx. Any info. that could help lead me in the right direction would be appreciated. E-mail lorraineee1@aol.com.

Ignacio Duran was the tribal governor in 1835.

This according to a list of Tribal Officers of Ysleta Del Sur from 1680 - 1993.
From Bill Wright's book:
The Tiguas - Pueblo Indians of Texas

In Bill Wright's book (The Tiguas - Pueblo Indians of Texas) there is a list of Tribal Officers.

Pedro Cuaron was the Cacique of the tribe in 1841.

He is also listed in the 1860 US Census as Native American.

And mentioned several times in Vol 2 of the Archives of Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo.
