I haven't been to this site in quite a while either.

I called my dad and he said that my grandfather, Steven Churilla, had 3 brothers and 1 sister; Joseph, Bill, Nicholas and Grace. Joseph, Bill and Nicholas immigrated to the United States, mostly to the Chicago area, but we do have some relatives in Pennsylvania. My grandfather Steven immigrated to Canada. Not sure about Grace.

My Grandfather married Margaret Vaida (from Pennsylvania) and moved back to Hungary. Later they moved from Hungary to Saskatchewan, Canada. After that, they lived in Montreal Quebec and Southern Ontario (Tillsonburg). My grandparents had 7 children: William (my dad), Hank, Ernst, Oscar, Grace, Olga & Jerry. They all live in Canada (Ontario and British Columbia), except Jerry, he is deceased.

The memory and family records are pretty sketchy, so it's hard to tell who I could be related to, but the name Churilla is not very common, so it is likely that we are related somehow.

Hi Kathy:

Kind of a grim way to find out if we're related, but my dad remembered that his uncle Joe (Steven's brother) was killed in a car accident (taxi cab) in the early 1970's. Was this possibly the same Joe that was your grandfather?

Ladies I believe that you have it all wrong about the Csurilla boys. There are a few bad ones but there are also a few good ones. Also I would like you to know that my uncle jim was a kind man and very proud of the Csurilla name.
