I recently purchased a watercolor
signed by Lola C. Csonka dated 1940.
I am interested in researching the history on this still life. It is quite intriguing. Do/did you know her? Any info would be appreciated. Thank you, Marion

Marion: The only Csonka's I know are 2 step uncles and their father, Alex, who came to the US at the age of 15, he married first to:
Katie Sisko, Detroit, Michigan on Jan. 28, 1913 and had the 2 sons, John Thomas and Frederick George born:Dec.27,1913 and Nov.11, 1915 respectively. Kate died when the boys were in early teens. Alex remarried in 1936 to my Grandmother, Helen Barazsu.
Any other info you can send on Lola would be appreciated and I will try to find out more on her. My name is Viola Helen Setzke, Adair, but I go by Lola. My e-mail is:LAdair7858@aol.com Hope to hear soon.
Thanks

My grandmother, Lola C Csonka, left me a number
of watercolors. If you can describe it, I may
be able to give more info. She lived in Northern
Virginia and then moved to live on a farm in
Maryland with her husband and 3 children. As a
teacher of art, she travelled to France and Italy.
She taught ceramics at American University in DC
where she moved after her husband died in 1958.
