Hi, Dana, My step grandfather was listed as Shanko on his marriage license to my grandmother in 1936 in Detroit, but he was Csonka on all other important papers.
He had been married first to a Katherine and had 2 sons,
John and Frederick George Csonka. I would like to see if I can find out who the parents of the stepgrandfather were, but getting info from any of the countries I listed is very hard. Am in process of going through what Utah has and it's not easy. Will need an interperter as the records are in the foreign language. Let me know what you get and maybe between us we can find something to help.
I've been doing geneology for about 20 yrs now and have finished my husbands (Adair) side and on my side I have Hungarian, Chec and other such countries and Germany and Poland also. Other names I'm working on are Barazsu, Kallos, so any help is greatly appreciated. you can email me at
ladair7858@aol.comThanks for the return.
