I do know that an " i " on the end means from.
Once our ancestors were in the "new land" they could change their name to whatever they wanted. I think it is in pronounciation, Csik sounds Cheek.
There are several towns starting with Csik. There is a Csikfalva in Maros-Torda megye, Romania.
