Hi

I looked at the original Nagy Kemencze church record ... Andrew(Andras) Csabak was indeed born 13 Mar 1887. He was the child of George and Anna. Do you know when George was born?

There were several Csabak family lines in Nagy Kemencze. I am still trying to figure out how or if they were related.

Pete

I don't know the exact date of his birth. I do know that he was born in 1887. What's also interesting are the names of my Andrej (Andras)'s children: Mary, Michael, Stephen, George, Andrew, Margaret and Anna. Do you see the family pattern. Michael was my father.
Mike.

My grandfather was Andrej Cabak (Hungarian form Csabak used on immigration papers) from Kamenica n. C., who settled in Northampton PA (Sigfried PA at the time) in 1910. He eventually moved to Hellertown PA. His brother John and his family remained in Northampton. There was another brother Joseph who remained in Kamenica. The family still resides there. Incidentally, if we share the same DNA, our family roots in the Zemplin foothills of Eastern Slovakia go back to 20,000 BC, which makes us genetically not Slavs but "native Europeans" of what is called the Gravettian culture... All the best, Mike Chaback.

I am researching Anna Cabak/Csabak and her husband Paul Yakub/Jakub. They were both from Kamenica nad Chirochou and immigrated between 1904-1906. They were married @ 1905. They settled in Mount Union, PA and eventually in New Castle, PA. Can anyone help me locate information on their parents/ancestors or their siblings. Thank you.
