I'm Bill Crymes, whose father was Thomas George Crymes Jr., and whose grandfather was Thomas George Crymes Sr. Both grandfather and great grandfather were dentists in the Greenville area. My sister-in-law has done a grear deal of geneology work on the Crymes family and has traced our family to the 1500s in England. Sir Thomas Crymes was Knighted in 1603 and his grandson, Dr. William Crymes immigrated to Virginia (probably Essex County) in 1676. His grand daughter, Alice, married Louis Cantelou of Augusta, Ga. She was followed by several kin to the Augusta area and to upper South Carolina.
All of this and much more can be found in the book "The House of Cantelou & Co." This is a Genealogy by Stephen A. McLeod. He may be reached at 602 Lakeshore Dr, North Tallahassee, FL 32312-1514. This book has a lot of information on the Crymes family with references.
Incidentally, one of my grandsons name is Trowbridge!
