Lucia, my email is guy@forebettergolf.com, so if you wish to email direct please do so! I believe that my great grandfather's name was Michele Crucil (first name spelling may be incorrect) and he married my my great grandmother, and her name was Maria Cernetig. They had, I believe 6 children (Antonia, John, Pierina, Anton, Luigi, and Victoria) I may have misspelled some of their first names??? I believe that only Pierina, Anton (my grandfather) and Luigi came over to the States. Along with them, many of their cousins also came over between 1906 & 1913. I have traced most of the "Crucil" family & cousins coming over to Ellis Island, NY. Almost every Crucil, when entering the USA, listed either Rodda or San Leonardo as their hometown. When they arrived, they were all between 22-30 years old, except for 2 Crucil's (Agostino at 49 years old in 1913 and Giovanni at 43 yrs old also in 1913). Pierina was the first, I think, to come over in 1906, and I believe she was my grandfather's sister. I believe my grandfather, Anton or as we called him Anthony, came over in the spring of 1907. Pierina and Anton settled in Chicago, Illinois and the rest usually followed them at least temporarily to Chicago, then moved on, and most eventually moved on to the Vancouver, British Columbia Canada to settle for good. My grandfather married Justina Battaino when she came over later with more of the Crucil family by boat.

Hello Lucia! I am traveling with my family to Udine sometime in middle June 2009. I will have 1 extra day to meet you before we go to Venice. My new email is guy@forebettergolf.com, as my old one no longer works. I would be very anxious to hear from you and perhaps meet in June 2009! When I arrive near Udine, I hope to travel to San Leonardo and Picig, which is where my paternal grandfather was from.

Hi,

I live in BC, Canada too and my great great grandfather, Frank Crucil, migrated to North America from Udine, Italy in the early 1900s. I was always told that Crucil is a very common last name in Udine, Italy, but from looking into it more am finding that this isn't true. Apparently, there are only 150 people in the world with this last name?? I would like to explore my roots in Italy in the near futura - - are there any Crucils out there in Udine still??

Hello,
My name is Judy Anderson. I was married to Attlio Manzini who was the youngest child of Giovanni Manzini and Pierina Crucil who both moved to Nanaimo from Cividale,Udine. Pierina had told me that Aldo was her nephew. I had met both your grandfather and Bev. I know they had two children Terry and I believe their daughter's name was Cheryl. My brother in law Joe Manzini still lives in Nanaimo and he may be able to give you more information on the family as he came to Nanaimo from Italy as well. Hope this helps you.
