Re: Children of William John CRUCHLEY and Margaret CRUCHLEY
Wonderful to read your post (even if it is 6 months since you posted it!).
William John Cruchley is my GGGgrandfather. According to my previous researches, he was born 03 Jun 1793 and baptised 26 Jun 1793 at St Anne's, Soho. I believe he died in Thanet in 1866, aged 73. (Unfortunately recorded as William Crutchley, just to put us off the scent!)
Do you have any clues as to the date and location of his marriage?
His eldest child, Alice Ann, is my GGgrandmother. On census returns, her place of birth is shown as "City of London". She married George Jones in Liverpool in 1846. The only one of her siblings that I was aware of is Mary Ann who, according to my research, was "b abt 1824, Dudley". Seems to confirm that we have the same family!
I was interested to see that William John attempted to perpetuate his brother George Frederick's name, but not that of his sister Catharine.
William John can be found in the 1841 census, working as a compositor in Fetter Lane, City of London.
Happy hunting! Peter Jones

Re: Children of William John CRUCHLEY and Margaret CRUCHLEY
Great to meet another cousin, especially one with more information than I have. I'm in Long Beach, California email douglasjordan at msn dot com.
Did you see the newly updated "London Deaths and Burials, 1813-1980" on Ancestry showing a William John CRUCHLEY buried 7 Feb 1865 in the South Metropolitan Cemetery aged 72 with the abode of Tiberton Square, Islington on Page 2999 of the register?

Re: Children of William John CRUCHLEY and Margaret CRUCHLEY
Thanks for the information on the 1841 Census. I missed it before since it was listed as 'CRUTCHLEY' instead of 'CRUCHLEY.' The children's ages match up well with those of St. Thomas register at Dudley.
