I am still trying to fill in the gaps of my obscure Crockett line. What I have so far is 3 Crockett brothers, William, George and James, were given, or bought, 300 acres in Clonliegh, just outside Lifford, County Donegal, Ireland in the 1790's. James may have been born about 1747, he married twice. His first wife is unknown. His second wife was Elizabeth Galbraith. Between his two wives, he had many children. He later emigrated to the US in 1804. One of his children, William Crockett, was born in Ireland in 1792. He emigrated to the US through Baltimore in 1808 and Married Margaret Stephenson. He was my 4th-great grandfather. They settled in Howard County, MD (Frederick area) and had at least 2 children, James and Margaret. I don't know what happened to Margaret, but James ended up in Alexandria, VA with a family and worked the railroad. I have this entire line from William. I am trying to find proof of his parentage (James Crockett & Elizabeth Galbriath) and that linage on back... Where were Crockett's before Edenmore? Where we from Scotland prior? Why did we leave Scotland, then Ireland?
