I would be interested in finding out if our Crocker families are related! My second great grandfather was named Joseph Crocker Ewer(s), b. 1818 in Cayuga Co., NY. His parents were Tillotson and Hannah Ewer(s), and Tillotson's parents were Paul Ewer(s) and Mercy Crocker.
Paul and Mercy Ewer were married in Barnstable, MA, in 1781, then moved to Lee, MA. Mercy died there in 1795, and Paul married Susannah Hamblin. Paul and his family moved to Cayuga Co., NY in 1804, then to Dryden, Tompkins Co. NY in 1817. The family began using the name Ewers instead of Ewer after 1810. Tillotson moved with his family to Michigan abt. 1829, settling first in the Ann Arbor area, then in Unadilla Twp. of Livingston Co. by 1839.
In addition to son Joseph Crocker, Tillotson had a son named Seneca who moved to California during the 1849 gold rush. He also had a daughter named Silvia who married Lyman Babcock. The Babcocks lived in Unadilla. Joseph Crocker Ewers moved to Bunker Hill Twp., Ingham County.
The mother of Paul Ewer's second wife, Susannah Hamblin, was Sarah Crocker. She was the niece of a Joseph Crocker who lived in Lee, MA and who moved to Genoa, Cayuga Co. NY at the same time as the Ewer family. I have not traced all the descendants of this Joseph Crocker, and there is one son I have not accounted for, William Crocker born March 26, 1800 in Lee, MA.
My Crocker lines descend from Deacon William Crocker of Barnstable, MA, and I suspect your lines do also. I would love to share additional information so we might find how we are related!
