Info on Scotish/Irish Croall's
I have many relatives in the Old Monkland Coatbridge(Glasgow) area including Hernan's who married Croall's. They came from Ireland, but I don't know where exactly. Do you have any info on Margaret Croall m. Andrew Hernan in Coatbridge,Lanarkshire,Scotland ca 1854 or Lawrence Hernan m. Winifred Croal ca 1827. Any info on Scotish/Irish Croalls will be appreciated.

Re: Info on Scotish/Irish Croall's
My GGG Grandfather was John Croall who married Elizabeth Dawson. Although Scottish, they were married in Kingston Jamaca at Freeman Chapel. John lived to be over 100 yrs old. I have old picture of him in military uniform. Croall Square in Edinburgh is suppose to be named after him. Possibly obtained land through his many years of military service. Besides this information, geneology from that point down is known to my family. However, we do not have the information prior to that. Can anyone tell me if he was possibly part of the Davidson Clan or just a military officer hired by that clan.

Re: Info on Scotish/Irish Croall's
I have just completed a family tree of the Croall family in Edinburgh. The family business started by John Croall in the early19th c and became an enormous business. Croall Place in Edinburgh is named after this family who had coaches and funeral services in several places in Edinburgh and Leith Walk(where Croall Place is situated). John Croall set up the coach mail service in Ireland, but he returned to Scotland. I am a professional genealogist so if you think I could help then please get back to me and I can give you my rates. Best of luck anyway! Isabelle

Re: Info on Scotish/Irish Croall's
Heidi: John Croall & Elizabeth Dawson are my GG Grandparents also. We have info of marriage date in Jamaica being Dec 5, 1846, in the Freeman Chapel. Must be same ones! Which of their children do you come through? I am a GGrandson of Charles Dawson Croall, their 6th child. Do you have info on the other children? We've been looking for info on John Croall/Elizabeth for a long time, & hope we've finally found someone who's involved in the search also. Hope to hear from you!

Re: Info on Scotish/Irish Croall's
Hi cousin = LindaCroall
I too am from Charles Dawson Croall & Sarah Sophia Enderson branch! Their eighth child = Ray Lillian Croall Ebeling was my GGrandmother. Her fourth child = Laverne Ebeling Sorensen is my grandmother (to whom is turning 91 at the end of this month!)
So which of the Charles / Sarah children do you branch from? My mother is guessing that you are from those in California, is she correct? We are the branch in Portland, OR. Heidi

I am also part of the Croall chain. My mom actually has the marriage certificate of John and Elizabeth Croall. They were actually married Dec. 3 1846. They are my gg grandparents. My mom has been doing the Croall genealogy for many years. She is the daughter of Charles Richard Croall. Let me know if I can help.

I am also from the Charles Dawson Croall & Sarah Sophia Enderson branch as well!
Ray Lillian is my 2nd great grandmother. Her son, Clare, is my great grandfather.
I am from the California side of things.
Does anyone have photos of them? I have a few, but would love to see more if anyone has them electronically.
All the Best, Shadara
