JOHNSON R. CRITCHLOW Update
I have been watching with interest, the recent messages on the CRITCHLOW family. Glad to see the exchange of information. I am still trying to piece all of it togeather..
I am a descendant of Johnson R. CRITCHLOW (b 1802-1806 KY; d. 1870-80 MO). He was the son of John CRITCHLOW & Nancy BROWN. I had thought that Johnson died shortly after the 1850 Owen Co., KY census, but he lived for a number of years after that. I see a lot of death dates for him of 1852 in Owen Co., KY. For what ever reason, after the early 1850's, he left KY and traveled west. In 1860 census, he is found in Clark Co., IL (CLAUSON R. CRITCHLOW) with his wife Rebecca and family. In the 1870 census, he is in Salt Springs, Randolph Co., MO (J.R. CRITCHLOW). With him is his wife, Nancy CRITCHLOW. His first wife, Rebecca STAFFORD, died between 1860 & 1870 in either IL or MO. In the 1880 census of Linn Co., MO, is Nancy CRITCHLOW, a WIDOW. Johnson died between 1870 - 1880, probably in Randolph Co., MO. Most of Johnson & Rebecca CRITCHLOW's children can be found in North Central & North East Missouri, about 50 to 75 miles from Johnson's last address.
