First there were about 25 Crecelius immigrants from Germany. Otto was the first in 1764. He landed in Baltimore, When he fought in the Revolutionary Was he lived in Pennsylvania. He then ended up in Virginia abd finally ib southern Indiana. Jacob J landed in Sandusky, Ohio. There was one to Pennsylvania, 3 to New Jersey, anmd about 12 to St. Louis between 1820-1850. The name was origionally Krekel until someone someone latinzed the name by adding ius. Later the "K" were changed to "C".
