VIRGINIA LEE CRAVENS
VIRGINIA LEE CRAVENS, 73, passed away on December 5, 1998. She was born April 6, 1925 in Norman, Oklahoma. She attended Mills College and graduated from University of Oklahoma. She lived in Tyler, Texas for 20 years before moving back to the Houston area in 1997 after the death of her husband, John Logan Cravens. She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Newsom of Minneapolis, Minnesota; daughter, Aileen Cravens of St. Paul, Minnesota; her son, Logan Cravens and wife Fretta, of Portland, Oregon; her son, Robert Cravens and wife Linda Thomas of Houston, Texas; and 5 grandchildren, Heather Easton; Mathew and Oliver Cravens; and Elizabeth and Sarah Cravens. A memorial service will be held at 3 :30 p.m., Wednesday, December 9, at Webster Presbyterian Church, 201 West Nasa Road One in Webster, Texas, 77598. An additional memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10, at the First Presbyterian Church, 230 W. Rusk in Tyler, Texas, 75701. Graveside services will follow in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Virginia Lee will be fondly remembered for her joyous love of music and dance, especially her accomplished piano playing and ballet dancing. She was a devoted church member and participated in Bible study, women's circles, and the choir. She was a member of D.A .R. and Delta Gamma sorority.
