Still looking for emigration from N. Ireland to northeast US about 1803, settled briefly in Maryland or Delaware and then on to Barnesville, Ohio (Guernsey County). I am descended from John Cranston, born about 1759 or 1760, in Monaghan according to some sources,, and came to US
Also trying to make connection with his ancestors and when they settled in Ireland (during the Plantations?) or otherwise. Some information suggests his father was Rev. John Cranston, and grandfather was Andrew Cranston. He had several children who emigrated to the US Including Thomas who had a son named Wesley who had a son named Reuben Borton, (moved to Poweshiek Co, Iowa) who had a son James , who was my grandfather. My online searches so far have led to dead ends. Appreciate any information and happy to share what I have.
