Hi. I am searching for any information on John Cracklin. I don't know any dates for him. His daughter Susan Rebecca 1838-1868 is my third great grandmother. Susan was born in Calvert County MD, but I have no idea where the Cracklin's are from originally. I was beginning to think maybe they hatched or something. In all of my search I haven't come across anyone else with that name in their lineage. If these people fit in your line anywhere or you could possibly give me a place of origin or anything I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks
Sondra

Sandra, I don't know if they hatched or not but have you tried Suffolk UK. there is a veritable nest of them there.Cracknell Crackland Crackling are all corruptions of the same name. I think Creacknell is the correct spelling.
Our were in Australia before 1720- but I know something of Cracknell of Haverhill before that. Yvonne

in my Husbands family there is an Ann Cracklin who married a William Seymour, they had a daughter Lucy born 1854/ (died 1894) in Edmonton, she married Arthur Layzell whose parents were Thomas Layzell and Harriet Amelia Warren. Arthur was one of 10 children (i believe). Thomas and Harriet also had a son Thomas who in turn had a Thomas who had a daughter Violet Audrey who was my Mother - in - Law, she died January 2000.

Linda- When you said 'Edmonton' in your message, did you mean the one in London, UK?
