Cornell E. Craciun, age 89, formerly of 1651 Charles St., died on Saturday, October 29, 2011, at Golden Living Center, Walnut Creek.pa, He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 21, 1922, a son of the late John E. and Anna Bucur Craciun. Cornell was enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII and later worked as railroad car repairman for Conrail. He was a member of Abiding Hope Lutheran Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He was a 32nd degree Mason, and enjoyed antique motorcycles. Cornell also enjoyed carpentry and made cabinets for the church, and grandfather clocks. Cornell was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Samuel Craciun and John Muntean. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elsie M. Kuffer Craciun; four daughters, Marie Trojan, husband, Thomas of Erie, Darlene Owens, husband, Michael of Cochranton, Carol Sullivan and Charlotte Craciun, both of California; a son, Cornell E. Craciun, Jr., of Erie; two brothers, Nick Muntean and Abraham Muntean, wife, Elaine; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street. Services will be held on Wednesday at Abiding Hope Lutheran Church, 5312 Peach St., at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Valley Cemetery in McKean.
