Golda M. CRABILL & Roy C. SMITH early 1900s Indiana
Does anyone have in their family tree a Golda M. CRABILL, born about 1897 in Kentucky, who married Roy C. SMITH, born about 1894 in Maine? They are listed in the 1920 & 1930 census in Indianapolis City, Marion County, Indiana. In 1930, mother-in-law Martha J. CRABILL, niece Betty J. CRABILL and brother-in-law Noel CRABILL were living with them. Also listed were brother-in-law Forrest G. LEWIS and sister-in-law Lu Edna LEWIS (I think that's what it says). Roy SMITH and his two brothers-in-law were working at "Ford's automobile co." Roy and Golda SMITH didn't have any children listed with them in 1920 or 1930.
Thank you!

Correction: Golda or Goldie (CRABILL) SMITH was born in Indiana, according to the 1920 & 1930 census. Her parents were born in Kentucky.
I'd be happy to share what I know about Roy C. SMITH's family. His sister has living descendants. I am related through his stepmother.

Thanks for replying!
Roy Smith's father's second wife was Annie "Nana" (Colbert) Grant. Annie was the sister of my g-g-grandmother, Elizabeth (Colbert) Riley.
I'm in touch with a descendant of Roy's sister, Marguerite (Smith) Williams Spadaro.
Please feel free to email me directly if you'd like information on the Smiths and Colberts. I'd love to learn more about Roy and his wife's family, the Crabills.

Joanne,
Your're going to need to be a little more clear as to exactly what cha need. Love my Uncle "Smitty" very much was almost a second father to me (lived next door to them from birth to age 20) and buried both Smitty and my aunt "Tootie" (her nickname). Have some stories to tell but would prefer to do it to your direct e-mail rastrher than through Ancestry.com. I'm surprized Margarette is still with us. She has to be in her late 90's. Wow!

Re: Golda M. CRABILL & Roy C. SMITH early 1900s Indiana
I'm getting pumped out here in Iowa. I remember my Uncle Smitty" (Roy Smith) and Aunt Tootie (Goldie Crabill Smith) visited Margarite sometime in the early 70's does she remember the visit? I don't think they had seen one another since the 20's. Seems there was a problem between Smitty and his Dad.
As I said I'm pumped...questions?
