George (B. 1830/31 in VA)and Mary (Roberts b. 1832/33 in OH) Crabill were farmers in Wapello Co, Iowa in the 1860 - 1890 time period - perhaps later than that.
One of their daughters, named Sarah (b. 1865 in Monroe Co, IA) but called Allie or Allienda, married Adolphus Davis "Dolf" McGlothlen in Wapello Co at her parents home on 17 February 1886. He worked at a variety of jobs in Wapello County - perhaps best known for managing a creamery with one of his brothers. He also sold real estate.

Sometime around 1900, he moved to Boulder City, Boulder Co, CO, but not apparantly with Sarah. Dolf remarried about 1909 and lived on in Boulder City, CO until 1936.

I'm trying to find out what happened to Sarah / Allienda / Allie (Crabill) McGlothlen.

Anyone know of this family?

Don McGlothlen

Hi,

Adolphus McGlothlen and wife Allie were shown in the 1900 census in Thayer County, Nebraska, Chester Precinct, but perhaps you already know that, I just happened to look it up while I was doing some research online because the sister of one of my husband's ancestors married a Crabill and they lived in Iowa for a time also. If you don't have that 1900 census info showing Allie and want the rest of it just let me know.

Also while I'm on the subject of Crabills, David Crabill and Elizabeth Eberly did have a son George born about 1829, that George was the older brother of the Benjamin F. Crabill who married the sister of my husband's ancestor. Pat Crabill answered one of inquiries on another message board though and indicated that David Crabill's son George Crabill was born in 1829 and died in 1862 and that he had gone to Iowa (Mahaska County) about 1860.
