Manchester Motor, Kansas, Dec. 26, 1918, page 1: A. H. Crabs Asa Harrington Crabs, son of Abraham and Mary P. Crabs, was born in Rock Island county, Illinois, the 30th day of September, 1864. At the age of 10 years he came with his father to Ada, Kansas, where he grew to manhood. He was married to Ida V. Hogarty October 5, 1884, at Ada, Kansas. There were born to this union nine children, two of them, Harry and Lee dying in infancy and another, Alda Moyer, passed away two years ago at the age of 25 years. The family resided at Ada for a number of years and Mr. Crabs was united with the baptist church at that place in 1894. About nine years ago the family moved to a farm near Manchester where Mr. Crabs passed away December 21st. after a few days' illness. He is survived by his wife and six children, Richard A., Allen and Max, at home; Vivian Lewis, Cambridge, Illinois, Grace Houtz, Solomon, Kansas; and Clayton, in the navy at Virginia Beach, Virginia; also three brothers and three sisters, Phillip Crabs, of Ada, Wm. Crabs, Perkins, Oklahoma; Abraham Crabs, Centralia, Washington; Mary Miller, Belton, Missouri; Margrette Davis, Salina; Cassie E. Mote, Tryon, Okla.; all of whom were present at the funeral with the exception of the brother living in Washington and the sister from Missouri. Mr. Crabs also leaves six grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was a loving husband, a kind and indulgent father and was respected by all who knew him. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. R.S. Lackland, at 10:30 today and interment made in the White Cloud cemetery. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the entire community.
