Abraham Crabbs in PA and OH
Is anyone researching Abraham Crabbs b. 9 Mar 1767 in PA, m. Thankful Lyons 17 Feb 1791 in OH, d. 5 Feb 1836 (Jefferson) OH? I am descended from his son John (1795-1881) Originally the name was Krebs and they came from Germany. It appears to me that most of the people on the Crabbe website originated in England.

Hi Nancy. I am researching the Abraham Krebs/Crabs and Thankful Lyons family. There are also several other "cousins" also researching it. Feel free to contact me with your questions.

Re: Abraham Crabbs in PA and OH
Hi Nancy. I have no information on Thankful Lyons' parents or siblings. She has been one of my tough brick walls. I do show 12 children for Thankful and Abraham Crabbs: David Crabs 1792; Philip Crabs 1793; John Crabs 1795; Henry Crabs 1797; Moses Crabs 1799; Abraham Crabs 1801; James Crabs 1803; William Crabs 1805; Sarah Crabs 1807; Phoebe Crabs 1809; Elizabeth 1811; Susannah 1813. Many of the names were given to me by another researcher. While I have verified some from family records and other sources, I haven't verified all of them.

Re: Abraham Crabbs in PA and OH
Hi, I am also looking for relatives to Abraham Krebs, and Thankful Lyons. Do you know anything about John Crabbs, and Polly Montgomery, I would appreciate any help you could give to me. Thanks, Rhonda Smith

Re: Abraham Crabbs in PA and OH
John Crabbs and Polly Montgomery are my 3G grandparents. I have quite a bit of information on them. John b. 8 Jul 1795 died 8 Jan 1881 in (Richland) OH married 21 Nov 1816 in (Richland) OH to Polly Montgomery b. 23 May 1797 in either PA (1850 Census) or OH (1860 census). I would guess that PA is correct. She died 31 Dec 1878 in (Richland) OH. They had 12 children What in particular are you interested in finding out? Nancy Jaeger

Re: Abraham Crabbs in PA and OH
Thankful Lyons or Lyon has been a difficult person to trace. She was born 22 Aug 1775. I've seen speculation that she was born in PA, but I don't know if that is correct. She died 15 Sep 1814 in Ohio. Some people have indicated she is buried in Carroll Co., OH, but since the farmstead was in Jefferson Co., OH it may have been in Jefferson Co. (or maybe it was in part of Jefferson that became Carroll Co. later). So far I've been unable to identify her burial location. I've actually been trying again to trace her, and I think her father may have been David Lyon(s) but I've not yet found any strong evidence. I'll let you know if I find anything further, or if you find any information, please let me know! Judy

Re: Abraham Crabbs in PA and OH
Thanks for writing back. Thanks for the day that Thankful Lyon(s) died, I had the month and year, but not the day. How long have you been working on genealogy? I have really found quite a bit since I use Ancestry.com. Did you know there is another site from BYU to use for genealogy too? It is ancestors.com. They have the records from cemetaries, but I still haven't figured out how to access them. Thanks again. Rhonda
