Hi,
I believe that I am one of the descendants from your Crabbe line. My grandmother was Alice Crabbe who married Edward Ambrose Cockett. I know that she had a sister Miriam who married Ed Schmidling.I think that they are from the Horace Gates line. Anyway I am trying to find more information on my grandmother's line. I am also a cousin of Buster Crabbe.
Do you have these names in your line? Alice and Miriam? If so, would you please e-mail me with information that you might be willing to share with me?

Thank you so much.

My mother (born in Oahi, Hawaii) had a cousin Clarence Crabbe.
She has many family members still in Hawaii, they are the Atkins and Deerings. I am not quite sure how the Crabbes fit in.
Anyways, my great grand mother married Charles Deering, and they had three children Elsie,Katherine,Charles

I have some old letters and pictures signed by a H. N. Crabb. I am not sure if they are Horatio Crabb or Horace Crabb. They were written and sent from Hawaii in the mid-1800's.

I had come across your e.mail, horation gates crabbe is my great, great, greatgrandfather, his son horace nelson crabbe is my great great grandfather. Horace n. crabbe daughter alice kalaninuipaopao crabbe is my great grandmother,i'm not sure if you have pictures of horation and his son but if you do, you can tell them two apart horation has a long beard and mustash and for horace n.crabbe he just has a mustash, though i just have one picture of each of them but it helps me tell them apart. Horation g.crabbe with his wife's nephew john meek jr (3rd) both had a photoshop about 1860's. mahalo (thank you) for your e.mail i just join ancestry.com and was not really sure what i was going to find and i was happy to come across your query. aloha ehulani aka tama

I am so happy to receive a reply. I do have a picture. I also have letters. I am not sure if you feel comfortable giving me your e-mail address, but I can scan the pictures and letters and e-mail them to you. I would rather not send them out to just everyone on the Ancestry list. I will not have the opportunity to work on genealogy until later this week. Have a great day!

Hi. I was wondering if you have a connection with the actor Larry "Buster" Crabbe, raised in Hawaii, Olympic Swimmer, mainly known for his portrayal of Flash Gordon, a Universal matinee film serial, but also did Buck Rogers, another science fiction serial of the 1930s-1940s, and some cowboy films---as Billy the Kid I believe. Did some guest spots on TV up through the 70's, and a guest spot as Commander Gordon in a science fiction movie The Flash Gordon serials were great flicks, even though I saw them as a kid some 15-20years after they were made. The best actors put their real selves into the characters. Cary Grant, E G Robinson, Bogart, for example. From the characters Buster Crabbe played, I'd say he was a genial, affable guy. Larry.

I believe we are decendants of the Castlewich Crabbes and have quite a few interesting documents showing this.

My name is Brian Edson Harkness and am from the line of Roderick Duel Harkness. Roderick and Elizabeth Edson had eleven children. I come from Edson (Twin) Harkness born 14 Jan 1797. His twin sister's name was Elizabeth Harkness. They are children six and seven. Jacob Edson Harkness was born 12 May 1799, child number eight.
now here is where the confusion starts. My research and family records show Edson (Twin) harkness marrying Delana Duel, not Jacob Edson. I Have seen it both ways in different family trees. More research needs to be done.

My name is Brian Harkness, decendant of George Edson Harkness, child eight of Roderick Duel Harkness and Zilpha Ann Loomis. Mary Harkness was his sister child number three. She married Decourcey Wright Crabbe about 1879. This is where the name Zilpha most likely came from.
I show The Crabbe's had two children. John Allen Crabbe born about 1884 and Anna Rebecca Crabbe born 07 Aug 1880.
