Re: Clarence, LaRue, Richard, Elton, Lucille CRABB all of northern NY
Sorry, Mary, those names aren't familiar. Mine were in New York City for a while. You didn't mention any time frame. Maybe that would help, especially since I'd have to look through 48 pages of outline descendant tree.

Michigan CRABB Mystery - William (b. 1853) & George CRABB (b. 1859) adopted between 1860 & 1870
Joyce: I'm annotating the journal of the Port Sanilac lighthouse keeper's wife from 1893-1935. We have two little boys named William and George Crabb, born 1853 and 1859, respectively, in Michigan. They were absorbed into another family and took on that family's surname some time between the 1860 census and the 1870 census. There is no evidence of any Crabbs/Crabbes in Sanilac County until 1930. I was wondering if you have any narrative history of a couple of little boys with these names being adopted. They retained their first names.

Re: Michigan CRABB Mystery - William (b. 1853) & George CRABB (b. 1859) adopted between 1860 & 1870
William and George are very common names, especially in my family, but I don't have any missing ones. Most of my family was in Barry County, and although the boys, William and Samuel, eventually moved to other counties, I have no record of either of them having children. Let me know if you find any more information.

My name is Glynda Fitzgerald Cumby, I live in Houston, and I believe we are distant cousins. I descent through Lowry and Angeline and then through Henry Crabb. My grandmother, Alice Pearl Crabb, was Henry's daughter. I realize it has been seven years since you sent this original message, but I would love to talk to you. My email address is glynda@rice.edu. Please contact me.
