To whom it may concern,
If anyone has evidence that William P. Crabb's middle name is Paul, I would like to know what evidence supports that name.
There seems to remain among some researchers whether Willliam P. Crabb, 1829-1893; who was born to Joseph Crabb and Catherine Rogers; is William Perry Crabb or Willam Paul Crabb. My name is Lee Crabb, great-great grandson of William P. Crabb, great grandson of Henry Livingston Crabb, grandson of Algee Buel Crabb, and son of Algee Buel Crabb (the second). My father spent much of his childhood with his grandfather Henry Livingston Crabb who told my father that his father's name was William Perry Crabb ( named after his grandfather William Perry Rogers) and that Henry Livingston's second son was named Benjamin Perry Crabb, after his father William Perry Crabb. Hence, Perry Crabb and his sisters Mable Crabb and Dolly Crabb, my grandmother Gladys Blanch Powers Crabb (wife of Algee Buel Crabb), my father Algee Buel Crabb (the second), his sisters (or my aunts) Darby Joy Crabb Haley, and Gladys Crabb Drake each and every one of them always referred to him as William Perry Crabb.
I have never found any evidence that his middle name was Paul. I believe that the family's record supports the name William Perry Crabb. I personally interviewed my father, Perry Crabb Mable Crabb, the husband of Dolly Crabb (John R. Thomas) Gladys Blanch Powers Crabb, Gradys Crabb Drake, and Darby Crabb Haley on this subject. Today each of them have passed-on and I continue to pass this information to our posterity as it has been passed on to me. However, it is now a part of my genealogy records.
I hope that this information may be helpful to those who include William Perrry/Paul Crabb in their records.
If anyone has any evidence to the contrary I would like to be informed of it.
Happy research to you all.
Lee Crabb
