Crabb line in North Carolina mid-late 1700's

Classification: Query
Surnames: Crabb / Crab
I am researching a line for a friend and need help going past one ancestor. His name is Benjamin Crabb, born on 7 Nov 1753 (according to his revolutionary war pension applications). He ended up in Wayne county, Tennessee, where he died in 1829 (according to the pension records). According to a census record there, he was born in North Carolina & according to his pension application, he fought for a colonial regiment out of Currituck Co, North Carolina. I am trying to find out for sure where he came from in North Carolina as well as who his family members were (most importantly his parents).

Any help would be appreciated!
