Yvonne S. (Whipple) Craaybeek Obit

CENTREVILLE — Yvonne S. Craaybeek, age 61, of Centreville, Mich., died Monday evening, Dec. 3, 2007, at her home.
She was born April 10, 1946, in Adrian, Mich., a daughter to the late Gerald and Helen (Frisk) Whipple. Yvonne had resided in Centreville since 1975, coming from Sandusky, Mich. Her early life was spent in the Adrian area.
On June 30, 1972, she married James Craaybeek in Adrian. Yvonne was a social worker. Following nine years of dedicated employment she retired from Constantine Public Schools. She had also worked for 13 years at Centreville Public Schools. She attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Centreville. Yvonne attended Siena Heights College in Adrian and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. Yvonne enjoyed going to lunch with her many friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, James; two sons, Adam (Janis) Craaybeek of Three Rivers and Scott (Tara) Craaybeek of Lancaster, Ohio; one stepson, Andrew (Stephanie) Parmley of Whitehall; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Cheryl (Joseph) Braun of Morenci; one brother, Jerry (Charlene Easy) Whipple of Sand Creek, and many nieces and nephews. Her parents and one brother, Mahlon Whipple, preceded her in death.
Funeral services for Yvonne will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian, with the Rev. David Grim of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church officiating. A graveside committal will follow the service at the Packard Cemetery in Sand Creek. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian.
