Hi, Richard, I am researching the Cozarts of Leon County, Texas, also. Williams was the son of Jacob Cozart, who was the son of Anthony Cozart, son of Jacques Cossart who came to New Amsterdam from Leyden Holland.

Oh what a great surprise! Happy to hear of your search results, I will share anything I can. But so far all I have is internet searches. FamilySearch, Genforum, Rootsweb and then these at FamilyHistory. I am searching all 16 lines of greatgreat grandparents. But as you might suspect it always leads to information on earlier surname lines.
Sandra, Ryan and I saw Lary in July at the Grocery Store Pharmacy in Buffalo. We miss MayPearl. We took pictures of Ryan and me at the graves in Evans Chapel.
If it's ok with you, we could keep in touch by e-mail.

I am also the decedent of the Cozart family but I am trying to find if Jemima 1794-1862 is also a Cozart as I have her down as a Mangrun but she married Sion Carrington who is Ephriam's son. I also heard that she is Williams Cozart's sister who married Sion's sister. Where do these two Cozart's fit in with the William Cozart family that descends back to the Jacques family tree?

Jemima and Sion are my direct descendants too. Wayne, I sent you an email but it was returned. I had a question. I am seeing a difference regarding Jemima's parents in Ancestry family trees. Was Jemima, wife of Sion Carrington, the daughter ofBenjamin Cozart and Sallie Reeves? Or was she the daughter of James Cozart and Sara Brinkley. I have not found good evidence for either set of parents. I never questioned Benjamin and Sallie being her parents until I saw the significant amount of researchers who listed James and Sarah as her parents. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

In my file there is listed Jemima as the daughter of James Cossart and Sarah Brinkley. A lot of my older information comes from World Family Tree.
You might give my e mail another try;
