I have a Elizabeth Coykendall born in 1881 in Iowa and have traced her back to a Joseph Coykendall (4 Generations), but we have no idea what year he was born in or where, and wondered if this could be a sibling to your Elizabeth. Please email me back with anything you feel could be of help. thanks. judy

Hello, I am responding to your Elizabeth Coykendall message. I am a g-g-grandson of an Elizabeth Coykendall who was born around 1880 in iowa. She was married to Alvah Lee Alger, my g-g-gd. I also saw a message you had posted requesting info for a John Mohawk, who I also believe to be an ancestor of mine through my ggm Freelove victoria Mohawk. I have been trying to figure out my lineage and would appreciate any info you could share with me on the coykendall, mohawk, or alger families. You can reach me at jennyalger@hotmail.com. Thank you

Harmon Coykendall was the son of Martinus Kuikendall and Katryntje Kool. Martinus was the son of Pieter Kuykendall and Femmetje Decker. Pieter was the son Leur Jacobsen Van Kuykendall and Grietje Aertze. Leur was the son of Jacob Leursen and Styntie Douwes. Harmon was also knows as Hermanus. His children were Peter - wife Rachel Kettle, Martin, Emmanuel - wife Sabrina Abers, Caty, Elizabeth - husband Isaac Finch, and Charlotte - husband Moses Decker. (My lineage is through Emmanuel). Harmon made his declaration for a pension 11/20/1832 a resident of Kingston Township, Delaware County, Ohio, age 70. Harmon says born in Orange County, NY 9/17/1756. Volunteered 8/1776 in NY militia. His story continues in his declaration about his service. After the Revolution, resided in Suxxex Co., NJ util 1820, until he moved to Ohio. He died in 1833 and his widow, Catherine applied for the widows pension. Her declaration was sworn to 9/11/1838. She received $80.00 per year until she died 2/19/1854. A letter signed by Isaac Finch of Kingston, Ohio states that Catherine is his mother in law. The letter was intended to prove her idenity and claim to the pension. There is too much to list here. But you can e mail me at GChrist727@aol.com if you would like mor info. Gail

I am researching my mother's family, Her grandmother was Pearl Coykendall who was the daughter of John ? Coykendall and his wife Mary Elizabeth Cutchall (Gotschall) . They were from Ohio. Records indicate they resided in Delaware, Marion and Morrow Counties before moving to the Toledo, Ohio area. I am having a difficult time tracing them. Any info you might have would be appreciated. I'm fairly certain that John's father was Daniel B. Coykendall and his mother was Elizabeth Miller. Cathy Bernstein

I'm off on a tangent here, but they sometimes yield information. I, too, am looking into a descendant of Joseph & mary Beadle. They had a son named William, m Sally Gannon who in turn had a son named Marquis (Marcus) who m Elizabeth and had a son named William who m Mary Smith. Can you help fill in some blanks? Can I fill some in for you?

I am interested in knowing of your Iowa family. My great grandfather was Nathan Coykendall, husband of Rosa Hancock Coykendall. they lived in Carroll county Iowa in the 1880's. My grandfather was Myron Earl Coykendall. He was born in Carroll County in 1882. I believe we may have the same ancestors. I have just started on my ancestery. Nathan was born in New York state about 1847 and the family then moved to Fulton county Illinois. Nathan and Rosa were parents of Fredrick, May, Flora, Myron, Ross, and George. They moved to Harper Kansas in the early 1900's. Nathan and Rosa were both deaf as results of childhood illness. Any information that you have will be appreciated. My e-mail is wmjones@ptsi.net.
