I am at a standstill with this group. My grandmother's aunt, Josephine Tasey/Casey married John COYER abt. 1890. They lived in North Tonawanda, NY. According to the census he was born in NY. but his father was born in French Canada, his mother said to Irish. Josephine and John had the following children, Hubert b. abt. 1892, Arthur R. b. abt. 1895, Leona J. b. abt. 1898, and Vera b. abt. 1900. Vera married a fella with the last name of AMBRUSKO. Hubert was said to be a prof at Buffalo State College. Other than that I have no information on the next generations. Does anyone have a connection or know of an avenue to pursue. Thanks. I have some pretty good info on John as I am from a different branch of the same tree. Johns father was Ben Coyer. Bens father was also Ben, but the name was Carrier-changed to Coyer when they came across from Quebec around 1850. I lose the trail there. I also have info from John through Hubert (who was at Buffalo State-even has a building named after him). John and my great great grandfather Charles were brothers. They were orphaned somewhere around 1870. I even have some pictures of this family.
I can send you all I have, just let me know. Maybe you have some info that can help me fill in the blanks. Do you have a family tree software package. I can send you the whole tree. Thanks and hope I can help

Not familiar with Mable. What town in NY? That may help

Mable is from the Carthage area. I now know that her parents were "Red" Coyer and Clara Covall. Clara was born in Clayon, NY March 30, 1877 and died in 1929 on West End Ave. Carthage, NY. Clara's parents were Louis and Irene Covall. Idon't know Red Coyers first name. Red was a nickname because he had red hair. Also, Mable had the following siblings that I know of now: William "Bill" L. Coyer, Earl Coyer; Ruth Coyer; Ada M. Coyer (married John Berry); Sara Coyer (died with polio at nine years old) and a possible Irene. Clara also married a Laselle after her 1st husband died. She also put her children in an orphanage unitl the 2nd marriage and then got them back. Red Coyer died while ridding logs. This is all I know as of today. Thanks for your time and relply. Laurie

Hi Dane - My great grandfather's name was Charles Coyer, I believe. Any information that you have on him would be great. From what I was told, he married a woman named Lily and they had eight kids: Walter, Ernest, Harry, Homer, Ida EldieCleta (Jackie), and Esther. Esther is my grandmother. Thanks, Anita

Must be a different group, the names dont match any of Charles children. Were they from New York State?
|
I dont know if they were from New York or not. My grandmother, Esther Coyer, was born in Kansas. Her father's name could have been Charles or Henry.
|
I am also a decendant of the Coyers on my Dad's side. If you would like to send me a message with your email address in it, I can send you the information that I have. I actually got it from a relative of mine that just recently contacted me. Send me a message at my email. Shaboom454@aol.com. Put Coyers or something like that in the subject so I don't accidentally delete it. Hope to hear from you soon!
