I recently found out my 4x great grandmother was called Mary Ann Coxhead. she married William Ilett in clapham surrey england in 1844. had at least one son Hampden Henry Ilett born 1850 my 3x great grandfather.

I am not sure when Mary Ann Coxhead was born but I believe she may have been the daughter of George Coxhead and Elizabeth (cork?) born in abt. 1825 this mary ann coxhead was born in Richmond surrey (which puts this mary ann coxhead in the right area, at the right age.)

if you have any infromation on coxheads in surrey please let me know, especially if you have information on any mary ann's

Surnames: Coxhead/Brockway
My name is Adrian James George now of Gold Coast Queensland, Australia. My father was James George Coxhead (deceased ) and mother Ada Helen Brockway.
Grandfather was George Coxhead who lived in Richmond, Surry. I have childhood memory of the house being called "the Vines" or similar. My father had a brother Thomas who also resided in London somewhere. Coxhead family moved to Stoke on Trent in the 1940's.,
Let me know if this of any assistance. I have a sister Deidre who lives in Leek, Staffs.

Regards

Adrian Coxhead.

Hi Adrian,

thanks for the information, my George Coxhead was born in 1812 so a little before your grandfathers time I think! but we could be related a little further back. there is Coxhead database, I can't remember the name or email address of the guy that organises it, but its on these message board somewhere.

bye for now,

Hannah

Yesterday, I found from the Coxhead Genealogy website that your Mary Ann (Coxhead) Ileet is the dau of George Coxhead & Elizabeth Cork. George was the son of George Coxhead & Mary Williams. George was born 24 Dec 1775 Hungerford the son of John Coxhead & Mary Cannon. I am descended from his brother Charles Coxhead bap 21 Nov 1776 Hungerford. Your George was a witness to the marriage of my Charles Coxhead to Anne Chitty 27 Dec 1803 Godalming. I would like to exchange info as I am trying to trace descendants of my ancestors. I also have copies of Coxhead wills further back.
I have some concerns with the Hungerford baptisms. There appears to be 2 many children with parents John & Mary for them all to come form John Coxhead & Mary cannon Regards

Hi. Have Thomas Coxhead m. Charlotte Bean Surrey 1818. A son, Thomas William was transported to Australia under the name Thomas Williams. There is a George Williams who m. Mary Williams so these could be grandparents to Thomas Coxhead/Williams. In turn, George's parents may have been George & Mary Cannon. Any help would be fantastic.

Regards,

Gary, Australia.
