I have two Cox lines that I cannot connect to any other working research. Please help if possible. #1 1850 Williamson Co TX: William E Cox b AL 1822 wf Permilia w/ children Minerva J, Adaline, & Gincy. This may be the same William E Cox who later married Sophia Jane and was in Bastrop Co TX in 1880's. There are land transactions in Bastrop connecting children: Minerva, E.W & gdau Gertrude.
#2 Looking for parents of Deby COX m James Sylvester, Phillip Caleb COX, Thomas COX & William COX. All born 1815-1825 in KY & MO. They all came to Limestone Co TX abt 1845 and then moved down to Travis Co along the Colorado River. Father may be William--but one I can't find. Any help would be appreciated.

Kaye,
I am interested in your Cox family, namely Minerva.
I am seeking info on Margaret Minerva Cox. She was born(supposedly) in Falls Co, TX but lived in Williamson and Bell Co. She was born in 1852-1856. Married Thomas Jefferson West in 1885. She died in 1936 in Coryell Co.
If you have this person in your family file I would appreciate anything you might be able to share. This lady is my husbands grandmother and very elusive.
Thank you for your help.

Lena

Sorry, but I don't think our Minerva's are the same. My Minerva Jane Cox was born in 1846 and was on the 1850 census as Minerva J Cox in Williamson County with father and mother William E and Permilia Cox. (At least I THINK this is mine) My Minerva died in 1918 in Bastrop County TX. She was married to 1st to Levi Eskew and 2nd to John Carter. My probelm is finding this William E Cox again and finding his parents. I don't have another Minerva or a Margaret Cox in my database. Wish I could be more help.

Surnames: Cox, Sylvester
I, too, am researching Caleb Cox's ancestors. I have quite a lot on Sylvesters and Thomas Cox family also. Caleb (known as Cale) was my great grandfather. There are so many Coxes in Arkansas and Missouri, but Caleb, Thomas and Debby don't seem to belong with any of them, even tho Thomas and Debby's families are listed next to William Cox's family in the 1840 Sevier County AR census. Surnames: Cox West Snipes
I found by accident in my West lineage, Jefferson West and Margaret Manervie Cox. I have the first names of their children but no dates. I also have more info for the Wests.
I am searching for an elusive Mr. Cox m. date unknown to Rebecca whose daughter Lucinda Cox b.7/18/1822 m. William Chester Snipes in 1842. I do not have anything more for Cox.
W.C and Lucinda moved to Falls Co. TX and both are buried in Limestone Co Tx. Wish I could help more!

Lena, I just got a reply from my 2003 post on Minerva Cox that I think you might be interested in. If you are still looking, you might want to go to this thread and check it out. The poster is satwood72. She has your Margaret Minerva Cox.

Thanks, Shirley. Unfortunately these are not my Coxes, but I've sent a notice to Lena who had was looking for this family. Don't know if she gets automatic updates or not, but I gave it a try.

Hi. As far as I know no one has found their parents--yet. I haven't personnaly worked on the Cox line very much. I got back to my Deby Cox and husband James Sylvester (my ggg grandparents), hit a wall and now pretty much keep up with other's research. I would love to connect my other Cox line to this one, but no luck getting back beyond my gg grandmother there. Have you connected with some of the others actively researching this line? There are several here in Central Texas. Be happy to send you some names off board if you want.
