I am looking for Cowlings that are descendants of John Peter and Margaret Kershaw, nee Osswell. They settled near Calvin, Illinois known as French Creek Prairie in Southern Illinois in 1818. They migrated from Manchester, Lancashire, England to Philadelphia, PA on July 4, 1818. They had several children, two daughters were nuns, the other children marrying into Spencer, COWLING, Michaels or Michels, and Rawlinson families.
