Looking for lost relatives - Covatta
I'm currently in the process of researching my great-grandfather's background, and trying to find relatives in Italy with the possibility that there are some also in the United States. From what I've discovered already, his given name should be Augusto Covatta. According to his Social Security information, he was born September 25th, 1885 in Italy, but I don't know where at this point in time. If anyone has any pertinent information, such as a story of a male member of the family leaving for America and never returning, or disappearing from Italy, please contact me via e-mail. I would love to find some of my lost family.
Thank you.

Hi, My father and grandfather were both born in Casacalenda, Italy. I do not know if you are still looking for information. I do not know of anyone called Augusto but you should consider Casacalenda as a place of birth. Hope this information will help you. Sylvie Montreal, Canada

Thank you very much for your information, but I've discovered that my great-grandfather was born in Camogli, Italy. Augusto Covatta may or may not be his given birth name, and I'm in the process of finding out.
Hope this information will help you.
I appreciate you taking the time to reply to my query, but unfortunately this doesn't really help, at least not at this time.
Sincerely,
John Barry

Re: Looking for lost relatives - Covatta
My family came over from Frosolone about the turn of the century. My grandfather was Joseph Covatta. We had relatives in Troy, New York. Joseph had an aunt who preceded him to the states whose name was Lucy. Joseph died in Frankfort Kentucky about 1926. He married into the Gallo family, and was related to LaGambas and Mirandas who apparently were also from Frosolone. My father, his brother and three sisters grew up in Louisville, Kentucky.
Any information would be appreciated.

Dear Anthony,
Hello. Wow, I posted my message quite some time ago, and since then I discovered that my great-grandfather's name was actually Gio Batta Argusti. I wish I could help you, but I'm afraid I can't. Sorry...I hope you find what you're looking for.
Take care.

Re: Looking for lost relatives - Covatta
My grandfather moved to St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada after WWII. He was from Limosano, Molise in Italy. I beleive his father was Costanzo Covatta who died shortly after my grandfather was born.
