Seeking to find more about the following.

1920 Linn County MO Census, Town of Browning.

Coulter, Gussie J. 27 MO OH OH
Fae (?) 27 MO NY IL
Ruth 8 MO MO MO
James 2 MO MO MO

My great great grandmother had this son. She had him when she was 21 but by 23 she married in Linn County, MO to Robert Ira Smith. She had two other sons ten years apart.

When she died in 1921 he G. J. Coulter was living in Browning, Linn County, MO. I don't know if he was from a previous marriage or what. Estate papers list him as a son and he did go to claim his share of the estate. No will only estate papers. Family thinks he was adopted by other family members. However, I don't know of any Coulter relations but him. The Census seems to indicate he was adopted since he shows his parents to be born in OH and Nannie was born in MO.

Is this your family? Is anyone looking or researching this family?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Natalie Cole
Smith Descendant

I live in Mo. and have lots of Smith info. I have an Uncle that was Ira Smith-the son of John and Lenora Smith. Does this ring a bell? My Mom's father was a Coulter also. Let me know if I can help you, Shannon
