Seeking information about the children of Thomas COULTER and Mary Sargent m. 8 Nov 1798 Boxley,Kent, England. Children are: Mary Ann m. James Mills; Thomas m. Mary; Susanna m. Henry Dolding; John m. Martha; Edward; Samuel m. Rachel Wilson in Australia 1841; Jacob; Elenour; Sarah; Edwin.

Samuel arrived in Australia 1829 aboard the convict ship "Layton". Rachel arrived in Australia aboard the convict ship "Mary Anne (5) in 1839.

Any information would be appreciated.

I'm afraid I can't be of much use in helping you with your search about the children of Thomas COULTER . However, I noticed that Thomas's daughter Susanna married a Henry Dolding. Do you have any information about their wedding date, or Henry's details? I know the Doldings came from the Kent area, and I have a Henry listed as born 1810, which might make him about the same age as "your" Susanna.

Thanks for your reply to my 'COULTER' query. Are you connected to the COULTER's thru Susanna ?

The following information was given to me by a 'COULTER Connection' in UK. I hope it will be of some use to you.

Susanna, daughter of Thomas and Mary COULTER was christened 30 Dec. 1804 in Aylesford, Kent. She married Henry Dolding on 6 Oct. 1842. There was a child, Phillis, christened on 28 Nov. 1824 in Aylesford, Kent. Whether Phillis was Henry and Susanna's child is unclear. I do not have any info on Henry Dolding.

Thanks for you speedy reply. I guess in theory I could be very distantly related to the Coulter family through Susanna & Henry. I know that many of my ancestors (back to about 1700) came from Kent. Therefore the record you have highlight would fit with me possibly being related to Henry. The only Henry Dolding I have traced to date was born in 1810, so I don't think they are the same person! However, the information you have given me is very useful. Thanks very much and good luck with YOUR inquiries.
