Dear Mr. Blair:
You wrote to this site on 11 Nov 2001; that's a long time ago so I hope this information reaches you.
I have a photocopy of all the
Coulter records from Seagoe
Parish from the late 1600's to 1984.
There is no marriage of Richard
Coulter to Mary Kelly recorded. There are, however, several births attributed to Richard and Mary (LNU) as follows:
Jane, bapt. 21 Jan 1816, Samuel, bapt. 14 Dec 1817, David, bapt. 26 Sep 1819,
Wilson, bapt 13 Mar 1825, Rose, bapt. 01 Jul 1827, William, bapt. 27 Sep 1829, Henry, bapt. 18 Mar 1832.
A marriage on 09 Jul 1852 is recorded between
Wilson Coulter, 25, weaver, father, Richard, farmer,
Parish of Seagoe and Anne
Lavery, 22, father William, weaver,
Parish of Drumcree. There are no further entries for
Wilson and Anne in the
Parish records.
A marriage is also recorded on 10 Jul 1852 between David
Coulter, 28, weaver, father Richard, weaver, to Mary Jane
Walker, 21, weaver,
Kernan or
Kerman, father, James
Walker, carpenter. Several births are recorded:
Martha Jane, bapt. 31 Jul 1853, parents reside in Ballinator. Samuel, bapt. 11 Mar 1855,
Carn (a suburb of Portadown), Mary, bapt. 28 Dec 1856, Ann Elizabeth, bapt. 20 Feb 1859, Richard, born 4 Dec 1862 bapt.11 Oct 1863, (family in Tarson) Margaret, born 17 Mar 1867, Joseph, born 3 Aug 1869,
Wilson, born 15 Jan 1872.
My e-mail is
gcoulter2@cogeco.ca and my interest is Samuel
Coulter, farmer, Armagh whose son, Richard, born approx 1827 joined the Br army and served in Plymouth,
Devon where he married Elizabeth Ann
Clemens. Extensive investigation has eliminated the Coulters of Tarsan
Lane. Any leads will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers from the Heart of the Thousand Islands,
Gary W. Coulter
